👨👩👦👦 Import contacts with CSV in Simio
Table of Contents
You can import contacts from a .csv file directly into Simio. All imported contacts will have a tag (the file name + the date) and can therefore be targeted in a campaign (for example, a welcome campaign on the WhatsApp channel).

You can import a file containing up to 100,000 contacts at once. The import may take some time, so please be patient!
You’ll be able to track the progress of your import in real time, so you’ll always know if everything is going smoothly or if there’s an error in the import.
🤔 How to do it?
- Create a list using the Google Sheet template (which you can duplicate)
Notes:
- Enter phone numbers in international format without “+”, for example: “33601020304”.
- Only the phoneNumber column is required. Do not change the column titles or their order.
- You can import custom fields by adding extra columns. The fields will be automatically renamed: no capital letters and no spaces. For example, you can add a birthday column with your clients’ birthdates.

- Download the file as CSV.

- Go to the Simio import page by clicking here and upload the file.
- Check that new contacts appear in the recent contacts list.
Don’t worry about whether you’ve already imported a contact or not — all your contacts are automatically deduplicated!
The import will automatically be tagged with the import date, but you will also have the option to add any tag you want.
Once the import is complete, you will have the option to create a segment directly by clicking the action button on the far right of your import. Then click Save segment, give it a name, and save. Quick and easy.
